Kylian Mbappe names Liverpool among his four favourites to win Champions League

Paris-Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has named Liverpool along with Juventus , Barcelona and Real Madrid as the teams he believes could win the tournament this year as well as his side.

The 21-year-old is determined to go all the way with PSG following their disappointing last few years in the competition, with the French side having been knocked out in the last-16 stage for the last three seasons in a row.

Mbappe is known to be an admirer of Jurgen Klopp's side, however, and admitted they have a good chance of retaining the trophy they won last season.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport Mbappe said: "Juventus is a strong team who have demonstrated this in the Champions League in recent years. With Cristiano Ronaldo they have a player who can help you win important things.

"So this season Juventus are among the favourites with the usual candidates: Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool ."

Mbappe has been linked with a move to the Reds over the past year, and he added fuel to the fire of the rumours by waxing lyrical about the team in an interview with BBC Sport .

"What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing," he said. "They're like a machine, they've found a rhythm and are like 'we play again, we play again'.

"They've lost zero games. When you watch you think everything's easy but that's not easy. The guys are focused, they play games every three days and they win, they win, they win.

"Now the problem is that everybody watches Liverpool, and everybody watches what we can do against them, so now they have to show they are strong again but it's a very good team with a very good manager."

PSG take on Dortmund in the Champions League last-16, with the first leg at Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park on February 18.
