Kylian Mbappe namechecks Steven Gerrard as Paris Saint Germain star details career masterplan

Kylian Mbappe admits he could make a move to the MLS during his career.

The 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain superstar is regarded as the heir apparent to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after an incredible two years.

Real Madrid are keen admirers of the World Cup winner but it would take a monumental bid to prize the forward away from the Parc Des Princes.

Mbappe has been enjoying some time off this summer but has made a surprise revelation about where he could see himself ending up.

The former Monaco star, who scored 39 goals in 2018/19, admits a move Stateside could be part of his career masterplan.

And Mbappe cited Rangers boss Steven Gerrard as one of the top players he could emulate by making the switch to America.

He said: "We don’t know what happens in football.

“Now in the USA, a lot of great players come after their careers in Europe, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo, great players. You don’t know what can happen, maybe when I’m a little older I can think about this.”

But fans hoping their team will land Mbappe this summer are set to be disappointed as the PSG have zero intentions of letting their talisman depart.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently told France Football:  "Mbappe? I'm 200 per cent sure he will still be at PSG next season."
