Kylian Mbappe 'makes decision over Paris Saint-Germain future'

Real Madrid have been put on red alert following reports that Kylian Mbappe has decided he wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe has scored 91 goals in 159 appearances in all competitions for PSG since his move from Monaco in 2017, and is thought to be one of Madrid's number one targets in the next few years.

Manager Zinedine Zidane has already been busy adding to this side this summer, having signed Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrigo at a cost of almost £300m.

And reports in Spain have suggested that Madrid could step up their pursuit of the French World Cup winner.

Spanish daily Marca has claimed that Mbappe has made clear his desire to leave Paris, deciding that his long-term future lies away from the Paris club.

The talented striker's current contract expires in the summer of 2022 and he has no intention of extending that deal, regardless of the financial benefits.

That leaves PSG in a tricky situation, as they may be forced to cash in on the striker to avoid losing him for free.

It is suggested that PSG will keep hold of the striker for at least one more season and either sell him next summer for a huge fee or lose him the following year for a lower fee.

Mbappe sparked speculation over his future with comments after he won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year accolade at the end of the campaign.

Speaking at the Ligue 1 award in May, Mbappe said: "This is a very important moment for me, I am arriving at maybe the first or second turning point in my career.

"I have learned so much here, and I feel it's maybe the time to have more responsibility.

"Maybe at PSG, that would give me great pleasure, or maybe elsewhere for a new project."
