Kylian Mbappe in France faux pas as Paris Saint-Germain striker caught on his phone during friendly defeat

France star Kylian Mbappe was caught on his phone as Les Bleus were defeated 2-0 by Finland in a friendly.

The 21-year-old was not named in the squad for Thursday's match, instead watching on from the stands at the Stade de France.

Goals from Marcus Forss and Onni Valakari saw France fall to a shock 2-0 defeat but the game clearly didn't enthrall the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

Cameras cut to Mbappe in the stand and the youngster could be seen using his phone rather than watching the action unfold on the pitch.

It comes after Celtic's Moi Elyounoussi was criticised for doing a similar thing as his side were defeated 4-1 by Sparta Prague.

The winger was seen on his phone after being taken off in the Europa League clash but later explained he'd simply been checking the score from Milan vs Lille.

The 26-year-old explained: "First of all, this is unacceptable from me. I have talked to both the coach and the captain and the case is dead between us.

“The phone is just out of pocket. I have alerts from Milan-Lille, the second match in our group, and I just wanted to check the result in that match.

“In any case, it is stupid of me to put myself in that situation. I'll lie down and take the punishment I’ll now possibly get.”
