Kylian Mbappe in danger of missing Man City Champions League clash with leg injury

Kylian Mbappe is in a race to be fit for Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League semi-final with Manchester City.

The World Cup winner is struggling with a calf problem, with PSG confirming the 22-year-old will play no part in their Ligue 1 clash with Lens on Saturday.

PSG travel to Manchester for the second leg of their semi-final this Tuesday, and there are fears Mbappe could miss the trip.

Mbappe last featured in the first leg, which PSG lost 2-1, and the France international was blasted in the press for his performance.

French publication L'Equipe gave the forward a three-mark rating and said he 'did not exist' in the clash, in which he made only 30 touches with no shots on target.

It wasn't just Mbappe who had a poor game as PSG fell apart in the second half, squandering a 1-0 lead secured by a Marquinhos header.

City's Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez were on target for the visitors as PSG's Idrissa Gueye was shown red card.

The result has put pressure on PSG to perform in the second leg and Mbappe's injury is a huge setback for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The boss was almost lost for words after the match on Wednesday night.

He told BT Sport: "I think it was difficult for us to cope with the demand and the physical condition.

"They were a little bit more aggressive, and it was difficult for us to recover the ball, sometimes it was a lot of possession for Manchester City, and of course it made it difficult to play."
