Kylian Mbappe has no reason to leave PSG following Lionel Messi arrival, says club president

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi says Kylian Mbappe “can’t do anything else but stay” after Lionel Messi joined the club.

Messi has joined PSG on a two-year contract after his deal with Barcelona expired this summer.

The Argentina international has joined a glittering team, that includes Mbappe and Neymar, and the club are determined to win the Champions League this season.

Mbappe, however, has been linked with a move away following Messi’s arrival - particularly as he is into the final year of his contract.

But Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “Well I think everybody knows the future of Kylian, people from Paris and the players.

“He is really a competitive player. He wants to win, he wants to win trophies, he said it in public.

“He wanted a competitive team and I think we have got the most competitive in the world. So there is no excuse for him now. He can’t do anything else but stay.”
