Kylian Mbappe hands Arsenal shock $109m transfer opportunity as Mikel Arteta plans free deal

Welcome to the football.london transfer briefing. To help you keep on top of all things Arsenal going on in the market we've got the latest noises coming from social media, journalists and so-called ITKs, rounding up what's what in the world of the Gunners.

Real Madrid offer transfer chance

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their attempts to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid this summer as the Spanish giants make alternative transfer plans. Carlo Ancelotti's side have already added Jude Bellingham to their squad and have continued to revamp the midfield following the signing of Eduardo Camavinga.

With Luka Modric and Toni Kroos both ageing, Madrid are now said to be considering allowing Tchouameni to leave as they look to fund a bid for Kylian Mbappe. It is written in Spanish publication Marca that the French star could be available for between £68million ($87.3m) and £85million ($109m) as they look to recoup as much as possible for the player.

Mbappe, on the other hand, is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain next summer when his contract expires with Madrid seen as the clear favourites to land his signature. However, in a bid to get ahead of the competition for Mbappe, they are now readying themselves for a massive offer this window.

football.london says: If Real Madrid really want to sell their soul and their midfield future to try and sign Mbappe then Arsenal should oblige. Players like Tchouameni do not come around every day and Arsenal would be crazy not to explore the chance if it exists.

As for the true reality, Madrid and Mbappe are the perfect combination of madhouse powerful club and dominating individual that always felt like an ideal marriage. If he doesn't end up in Spain at some point it would be a surprise, if that means Tchouameni has to go to north London then so be it.

Declan Rice alongside the Frenchman would be one of the best midfield duos in the world and would surely be near perfect for Mikel Arteta's side. If the chance is there, thank Mbappe for his controversy, write to Madrid and wish them good luck and take Tchouameni back to the Emirates Stadium with glee.

Mehdi Taremi interest

Arsenal are said to be one of several sides alongside Al Hilal, AC Milan, Manchester United, Everton, Lille, Marseille, Tottenham and Roma to be interested in making a move for Porto striker Mehdi Taremi this summer.

The Iran star is out of contract next summer and pre-agreement for the player is not yet off the cards ahead of a potential free transfer but for now, reports in Portugal suggest that Arsenal have made initial enquiries over his availabilty.

With a price of around £17million ($21.8m) for a move this summer, the 30-year-old with 22 goals and seven assists in 31 league games last year is a consistent scorer across his career and is one of the most prolific forwards outside of Europe's top five divisions.

football.london says: This is an interesting one. Taremi doesn't scream Arsenal right now. His age and style do not necessarily fit into the style that has been pursued over the past transfer windows but he is a player proven and with Champions League experience behind him.

Even with Kai Havertz added and Folarin Balogun returning, Taremi is a point of difference option and could be the ideal player for a team balancing competitions and workload. Whether it's a cheap deal this year or planning for a free transfer in 2024, Taremi is certainly someone that football.london thinks could be a shrewd piece of business.
