Kylian Mbappe 'flying to Madrid on Wednesday' after expressing desire to leave PSG

Kylian Mbappe is set to make a flying visit to Madrid on Wednesday amid reports the PSG striker wants to leave current club Paris Saint-Germain just months after signing a new £650,000-a-week contract.

The French international will reportedly travel to the Spanish capital with three teammates including Sergio Ramos after turning down a move to the Spanish giants over the summer.

But the 23-year-old, who has openly criticised PSG manager Christophe Galtier’s tactics in the opening weeks of the season, will make the trip to be a VIP guest of honour at a bullfight according to Spanish radio station COPE and not to discuss his footballing future.

Bullfighting fan Ramos and goalkeepers Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma will also join them at Madrid’s famous Las Ventas bullring for an event contending with the National Day of Spain, a national holiday held annually on October 12 and commonly referred to in Spanish as the Dia de la Hispanidad.

The traditional event, featuring Ramos’ friend Alejandro Talavante, will take place at 7pm on Wednesday.

The PSG players are said to be planning to travel to Madrid on a day off after their team’s Champions League match against Benfica.

The Portuguese side held PSG to a 1-1 draw last week in their home stadium.

Real Madrid players Dani Ceballos and Nacho Fernandez are also set to attend according to COPE.

Sergio Ramos, said to have persuaded Mbappe to join him at Las Ventas, is a well-known bullfighting fan.

He invited former Real Madrid goalie Navas to matador friend Alejandro Talavante’s Spanish country estate last month.

The pair flew to Badajoz by private plane and met up with defender Nacho at the property in nearby Olivenza.

The reports about Mbappe’s impending visit to Madrid coincide with shock claims he already wants to leave PSG after feeling ‘betrayed’ by the club’s owners.

The star striker earned himself enemies at Real Madrid by choosing to stay at PSG in a protracted transfer saga this summer instead of moving to La Liga.

The club’s fans accused him of going back on a promise to join them and put money before the interests of his career by accepting his lucrative new contract.

There has not yet been any official comment from the Frenchman about his reported trip to Spain.
