Kylian Mbappe Euro 2020 penalty 'taunt' from Adrien Rabiot's mum revealed as France team descends into civil war

The angry mum of Adrien Rabiot has reportedly told Kylian Mbappe 's family their superstar son's missed penalty against Switzerland was "embarrassing".

France's lauded football team is on the verge of mutiny after a series of arguments emerged in the wake of their shock Euro 2020 exit on spot kicks.

It emerged on Tuesday that outspoken Veronique Rabiot launched a verbal volley at Mbappe's family as well as relations of Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

And now L'Equipe's Sebastien Tarrago claims the the Juventus star's mum goaded the relations of France's golden boy in the immediate aftermath of their shock exit.

She reportedly said: "It is embarrassing how he struck that, for a player of his level. He hit it too lightly. I hope you are going to scold him."

It comes after RMC stated the Rabiot ire at Pogba came from the midfielder scolding her son before he himself gave the ball away for Switzerland's equaliser to make it 3-3 in normal time.

France have avoided many of the civil wars that once ruined them under Didier Deschamps but the tournament also erupted before it started when Mbappe was left raging at Olivier Giroud's claims he didn't pass him the ball.

And the fallout is set to continue with many supporters and commentators noting that Mbappe was not comforted by his team-mates after he missed the decisive penalty.
