Kylian Mbappe has sparked a fan frenzy on Twitter after publicly welcoming Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain following confirmation of the Argentine's move to the French capital.
Mbappe's gestures comes just days after Messi was officially unveiled as a PSG player at a press conference hosted by club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who had some choice words for Mbappe amid speculation over his own club future.
The 22-year-old has been touted with a move away from the French giants all summer, with a number of European 'super clubs' reportedly interested in the World Cup winner's signature, including Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Al-Khelaifi was asked about Mbappe's future at Messi's unveiling, to which he responded: "“I think we have the most competitive team. Now there is no choice for Kylian but to stay here in Paris.
"I think everybody knows the future of Kylian, people from Paris and the players. He is a really competitive player. He wants to win, he wants to win trophies, he said it in public.
"He wanted a competitive team and I think we have got the most competitive in the world. So there is no excuse for him now. He can’t do anything else but stay."
The PSG chief remains adamant that the signing of Messi on a stunning free transfer ensures the club remain a more attractive proposition than anything that anyone in La Liga or the Premier League could offer Mbappe.
He described Messi's arrival as "an amazing and historic day for the club," the six-time Ballon D'or winner leaving Barcelona after 21 years at the club after La Liga wage restrictions prevented him from extending his stay at the Camp Nou.

Messi himself went on to express his excitement over linking up with Mbappe and former teammate Neymar, claiming "It’s madness to be able to work with such great players on a daily basis."
"I’m eager to get playing and I’m going to be doing it alongside some of the best players in the world.
"It’s going to be a marvellous experience every day. I hope I can continue to win titles. I have the same hunger as when I was younger."
