Kyler Murray was the No. 1 pick after all, and Twitter pitied Josh Rosen

Sorry, Josh Rosen. The Arizona Cardinals did it.

The team selected Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and will try to trade Rosen, the No. 10 overall pick in 2018.

Even after the team used misdirection in the days leading up to the draft — with reports cropping up that the Cardinals were considering a defensive player — Arizona picked Murray. And frankly, those reports now seem like smokescreens to boost trade value for Rosen, who will likely get dealt in the coming hours or days.

And yet, Murray didn’t even seem to know he’d be the top pick. He told NFL Network before the draft that he didn’t know where he’d go. The mystery came to an end on Thursday night.

Twitter had its fun with the selection.
