Kyler Murray visits Giants, set to visit Redskins

Although the Arizona Cardinals are believed to be set on selecting quarterback Kyler Murray with the first overall selection of the 2019 NFL draft, there have been a couple of interesting twists. Murray is now visiting teams who, on the surface, appear to have no chance to draft Murray unless they trade up in the first round.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Murray was in New York on an official visit with the Giants, who hold the sixth overall pick in the draft.

He is also set to have an official visit next week with the Washington Redskins, who hold the 15th pick.

ESPN’s Jordan Schultz first reported it and SI.com’s Albert Breer confirmed it.

Since the Redskins only have the 15th pick in the draft, they clearly had to have made some assurances to Murray and his camp that they are considering trading up.

Could either be in play to trade up to the top pick in the draft?

With word of these new visits for Murray, it raises questions about the reported certainty of the Cardinals drafting Murray. If it were a sure thing that Arizona was going to draft him, he wouldn’t need to meet with any other team.

So the saga continues and the chaos remains.

It appears that no one really knows what anyone is doing.
