Kyler Murray still weighs over 200 pounds for start of rookie minicamp

One of the few concerns there are with new Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is his size and frame. However, when he measured at 5 feet 10 and weighed in at 207 pounds at the NFL combine, many of those concerns disappeared.

Some still wonder whether he would be able to keep that weight on.

He has.

He reported for minicamp on Thursday and also signed his rookie contract. He weighed in a little bit heavier than he did at the combine in February.

According to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro, he reported to the team weighing 211 pounds, four pounds heavier than at the combine.

If he can maintain this weight, it will give him the frame necessary to take the hits he will receive as an NFL quarterback. Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, to whom Murray is often compared, was 5-11 and 204 pounds at the 2012 combine. He is now listed at 215 pounds.

If Murray can maintain that relative weight, especially by adding bulk, he should be just fine in the NFL.
