Kyler Murray snubbed as Matthew Stafford named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

The NFL announced its conference players of the week and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was snubbed. After throwing four touchdown passes and rushing for a touchdown, he was not selected as the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Instead, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was honored.

Stafford, in his Rams debut, led his team to a 34-14 win over the Chicago Bears Sunday night. He had 321 passing yards, three touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He had a nearly perfect passer rating of 156.1.

Stafford was fantastic, but he had fewer touchdowns and his team beat what mostly everyone considers a lesser team.

Murray has won player of the week honors four times already in two seasons. He should have earned his fifth.

Perhaps it was because Stafford was playing his first game with the Rams or perhaps the league didn’t want the Cardinals to have both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, but this was a clear snub.
