Kyler Murray’s height comes into question again with rookie photo

Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray’s height was the subject of much offseason discussion leading up to the draft. Is he tall enough to play quarterback in the NFL? The Cardinals are not concerned.

However, his height from the NFL combine — 5 feet 10 — has been questioned again because of the photo taken at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles.

Murray is next to former Oklahoma teammate Marquise Brown, who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens. Brown is listed as 5-9 and appears to be taller than Murray.

For The Win’s Henry McKenna shared some of the reactions to the photo.

The Cardinals made Murray the first-ever quarterback under 6 feet tall to be drafted in the first round. Not only that, they took him first overall.

Of course, Brown could be up on his toes. It could be a number of things. Maybe Murray is, in fact, shorter than listed. However, regardless of the height, the Cardinals know how tall he is. They have been next to him and it didn’t matter. Whether he’s 5-8 or 5-10, he is their guy and they believe he will be a star.

And if he becomes a star, does it really matter anyway? Everyone knows he is shorter than the quarterback prototype. How much shorter probably doesn’t make much difference.
