Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray has yet to play an NFL snap but he is already setting records in the NFL.
After getting drafted first overall by Arizona, he signed his autograph to a Cardinals helmet that then was auctioned off by the league. That helmet sold for a record $3,450, according to Katherine Fitzgerald of the Arizona Republic.
The proceeds of the sales of the league’s auction of these draft helmets go back to the high school programs of the players drafted.
The draft helmet to sell for the most in last year’s draft was from Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch. His sold for $2,150.
There is a buzz surrounding Murray. He was the Heisman Trophy winner last year in college. He was drafted in the first round by the Cardinals in the NFL and also by the Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball. He threw for over 4,000 yards and rushed for more than 1,000. The Cardinals believe he is a special player.
With one record in the books, now it is time to see if he can set records on the field.
