Kyler Murray pokes fun at his baseball career in new Nissan Heisman House ad

Kyler Murray may not wear a baseball uniform anymore but he has definitely been a home run for the Arizona Cardinals.

In a new Nissan commercial for the Heisman House series, Murray takes a humorous jab at his baseball career:

Kyler Murray had a two-year stint as an outfielder for the University of Oklahoma while also serving as the school’s starting quarterback where he would go on to win the Heisman trophy.

Murray was also drafted as the seventh overall pick by the Oakland A’s in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. This would prove important as Murray had to make a decision whether to report to the A’s and begin a professional baseball career, or pursue a career in the NFL. His impending decision would go on to be one of the biggest story lines of the summer.

Murray eventually picked football and was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the first overall pick, even after the A’s were heavily aggressive in their pursuit as he was offered a contract worth “close to $5M” and according to Robert Klemko of Sports Illustrated, was offered an additional “$14 million in bonus money”.

It’s nice to see that Murray is dusting off the baseball uniform for a funny one-off appearance though.
