Kyler Murray is a winner

The Arizona Cardinals were the worst team in football in 2018. It is why they had the top pick in the draft, which they used to select quarterback Kyler Murray.

Losing is not something he knows.

It dates back to high school.

He led his high school team to three straight state championships, going 42-0. That began when he started as a sophomore.

He had to wait to be a starter until last year at Oklahoma but he took that team to the college football semifinals, finishing 12-2. His last four years as a starter, his teams have been 54-2.

He is not used to losing.

It is different than Josh Rosen. Rosen was wildly successful in high school with winning teams, but his teams at UCLA were not great. His teams went 18-20.

The Cardinals are coming off a terrible year. Not only were they 3-13, they weren’t even competitive in a good number of those games.

He wants to change that.

“I’m not here to lose games or go through the motions,” he said when he was introduced to the media. “I’m here to change things up.”
