Kyler Murray 2020 stat projections show good things coming

It is largely expected that Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray should improve upon his Rookie of the Year campaign in which he had more than 3,700 passing yards and more than 500 rushing yards. What could that improvement look like in 2020?

Statistical projections for all 32 starting quarterbacks by Bleacher Report show good progress for Murray.

His numbers? 4,276 passing yards, 26 touchdown passes, 14 interceptions, 461 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

That would be an increase of more than 500 passing yards, six touchdown passes and only two interceptions.

Averaging less than an interception a game is fantastic.

In fact, in terms of franchise history, it would be the fourth-most passing yards in a season, tied for the fifth-most touchdown passes and tied for the seventh-lowest interception percentage by a player attempting 300 passes in a season.

It would mark a decrease in rushing yards, which is possible, though it would not be a surprise to see him produce a little more than his rookie season now that he is more familiar with the speed of the NFL and when to run.

These projections are reasonable. They are not the astronomical jumps in production that Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson had in their season NFL season, but if Kenyan Drake also has a good season running the ball and the defense is simply okay, that should be enough to propel the Cardinals as a team into playoff contention.
