Kyle Walker tweet: Liverpool daringly trolled by Man City star with Harry Maguire meme

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has risked ending up with egg on his face by trolling Liverpool fans over their 1-1 draw with Leicester on Wednesday night.

Liverpool blew the chance to go seven points clear of title rivals Man City at the top of the Premier League, after Pep Guardiola's side had been surprisingly beaten 2-1 by Newcastle on Tuesday.

After that result, Guardiola admitted it would be 'difficult' to catch Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp's side dropped points against a team outside the top six for the first time this season to give City renewed hope, though Liverpool still hold a five point advantage with 14 games to go.

Walker took to Twitter to mock Liverpool fans, using a meme of England teammate Harry Maguire, who scored Leicester's equaliser after Sadio Mane had given the Reds an early lead.

Accompanying the image, which went viral during last summer's World Cup, Walker wrote: “So basically they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead...”

Deleted tweet: Kyle Walker has since pulled the meme from his Twitter feed

The Man City star has since deleted the social media post.
