Kyle Walker responds to Pep Guardiola claim about his Man City form

Kyle Walker said he feels stronger than ever after being asked about Pep Guardiola's claim that he is in the middle of his best ever form for Manchester City.

Walker started again for City in the Premier League trip to Sheffield United, continuing his run of starting every game this season for the Blues.

His appearance at Bramall Lane, at the club where he started his career, is also his 100th for City, and he responded to Guardiola's comments this week that he's at the top of his game.

"I feel good," he told club media prior to kick-off. "It's strange playing so many games, I could feel fatigued but I feel stronger than ever and I'm ready to go. Hopefully we can pick up the three points today."

Walker also outlined his intention for City to embark on a run in the league after their encouraging win in Marseille this week. City had only won two of five Premier League games this season prior to the game in Sheffield, and Walker said that form must improve.

He explained: "It was back to the normal City [in Marseille] that everyone seems to like to watch and we like to play. Hopefully we can replicate that.

"It's going to be a tough team, as I know more than most. I watch them frequently. They set up well, they've got a good manager, they've got a good philosophy. Hopefully we can come here and get the three points which is the main thing. I'd love them to get wins, but not today!

"My main job is focussing on Man City, we need to climb the table now, shake the cobwebs off and get a run going."

Walker opened the scoring against Sheffield United with a driven shot from outside the area.
