Kyle Walker makes Liverpool admission after watching win over West Ham

Manchester City star Kyle Walker has revealed how he and his team-mates reacted to Liverpool’s recent victory.

The Reds claimed a 1-0 win over West Ham on Saturday to temporarily move three points behind Man City in the Premier League table.

However, the gap was extended to six points once again after Man City beat local rivals Manchester United 4-1 less than 24 hours later, with the Reds having a game in hand.

Liverpool are due to take on Man City at the Etihad Stadium on April 10, and Klopp will be hoping that the points gap is still within reach going into that match.

Walker has admitted that he watched Liverpool’s win over West Ham, and in doing so hailed the Reds’ quality.

The former Tottenham defender went on to explain how he enjoys the pressure of a title race, adding that he thinks it makes Man City a better team.

“We have to keep it going if we want to meet our goals and objectives at the end of the season,” Walker told the Manchester Evening News .

“I watched Liverpool [on Saturday] and they are a fantastic team with key men in very good areas.

“We just have to make sure that we do what we have to do and hopefully, that will be enough.

"It is football, I love playing under pressure and I feel like that is when we produce our best football when our backs are against the ropes and we have got people breathing down our necks.

“It is exciting, it is good for the English game and it is what the fans pay a lot of good money to come and see.”

Man City have 10 league matches left to play, while Liverpool have 11.

Walker went on to say why every match between now and the season’s conclusion will be treated as a final, as they look to beat Liverpool to the league title.

"I think every game from now until the end of the season is a cup final,” Walker added.

“We need to make sure we bring the same level of performance to every single game and hopefully, that will be enough for us to clinch the Premier League.

“Today is a great one for the bragging rights, but the season is not over by any stretch of the imagination.

“We know we need to keep getting the three points and keep putting the performances in.”
