Kyle Walker makes generous £1,000 donation with touching message to support Man City fan

Kyle Walker has made a generous £1,000 donation to help a Manchester City fan in need.

A GoFundMe account was set up by Justine Spencer in the hope to raise money for her brother, Brendan Murray.

Brendan, who is known within the Manchester City community as "Blazin Bren", was born with cerebral palsy.

As a result, he is unable to walk and uses a wheelchair in order to travel and was due to be fitted for a new electric wheelchair.

Brendan, however, apparently could only be offered a regular wheelchair and due to his condition, that has seriously limited his ability to travel even as far as the local supermarket.

It is hoped an electric wheelchair would open new possibilities, allowing the City fan to travel as far as town for a pint, once pubs are open again.

So, a £5,000 fundraiser began and that target was met thanks to Walker, who donated £1,000 towards the fund to help Brendan in his quest for more freedom.

The City and England defender wrote: "Good luck Brendan, we’re all behind you! Looking forward to seeing you and everyone back at Etihad Stadium soon. Come on City!"

Walker's kind gesture has been met with high praise from Manchester City fans online.

Jon Adaway: "It's brilliant news. Also Kyle is a top man for his donation too. It proves that City is a real community club from the players to the fans."

Rob Taylor: "Fantastic."

J.S: "Kyle Andrew Walker, one of the greats!"

PeterMC: "legend!"
