Kyle Walker, Ferran Torres - Man City injury latest and return dates ahead of Leicester game

There will be contrast in the two dugouts when Manchester City take on Leicester City this Boxing Day.

Having coasted to a third Premier League title in four seasons, Pep Guardiola and his star-studded team sit top of the tree, once again, this Christmas on the back of eight straight victories.

But can they make it nine on the bounce at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon (3pm)?

Aside from Covid-related absences, as the devastating pandemic continues to take hold of the sporting calendar, the Foxes might be without 12 injured players for this game.

By comparison, City are only definitely without Ferran Torres (foot), while Kyle Walker remains the other doubt as his omission was prolonged last time out against relegation-threatened Newcastle.

Given that clean bill of health, Guardiola was afforded the opportunity to put Phil Foden and £100million man Jack Grealish on the naughty step vs Newcastle amid the two England stars being pictured on a night out.

Here is the current state of play on the treatment table at the Etihad Stadium;

Ferran Torres

Injury: Broken metatarsal

Return date: January 2022

What Guardiola has said: "I said many times, if you are not happy you have to leave. We are not a club like other teams when you want to leave and the CEO and president say no. Another issue is the agreement with the clubs and the players, it's not my business. It's not the case for Ferran. For everyone, if you want to leave because you're not happy here and believe you'll be happy in another place, you have to go."

Kyle Walker

Injury: Unsure

Possible return date: December 26 vs Leicester City

What Guardiola has said: "He wasn't fit, that's why he wasn't playing."
