Kyle Van Noy shows appreciation for New England after terrific four-year run

Kyle Van Noy deservingly is walking into a four-year, $51 million contract with the Miami Dolphins.

The 28-year-old linebacker joined the New England Patriots via trade in 2016 and has been a fundamental part of the team’s identity. New England acquired him from the Detroit Lions for a second-round pick, resulting in one of Bill Belichick’s best trades. Van Noy has been one of the most versatile players on the defense and his energy was just a great bonus.

Van Noy hoped to stay with the Patriots going forward, but also understood the business side in the NFL. He’s shown nothing but love for New England, and he put that energy out in a tweet after signing with Miami.

Van Noy entered New England as a young and struggling linebacker — he left as two-time Super Bowl champion.
