Kyle Van Noy defends Patriots’ secondary after being snubbed on Twitter poll

Kyle Van Noy isn’t shy when it comes to defending his team.

The New England Patriots linebacker has been candid about his feelings towards the media and fans on Twitter. He had a lot to say on Thursday after Fox Sports created a poll that asked fans who the NFL’s best secondary is. The fans narrowed it down to four teams, and New England wasn’t one of them.

It’s hard to argue that Stephon Gilmore hasn’t been playing like the best cornerback in the NFL right now, and Devin McCourty has been as reliable as safeties get. So, Van Noy has a strong case to work with — along with the fact that they held the Los Angeles Rams to three points in the Super Bowl.

New England has two youthful cornerbacks in J.C. Jackson and Jonathan Jones that showed promise and provided significant minutes in 2018. Patrick Chung is the hard-hitting safety and Duron Harmon is known for closing games out with his notable interceptions.

On paper, the Patriots may not have the flashiest group of guys in the secondary, but Van Noy may have a point.
