Kyle Shanahan roasts Redskins ahead of Sunday’s homecoming to Washington

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has a history with the Washington Redskins. While spending time on the coaching staff from 2010-2013 as the offensive coordinator, Shanahan had the pleasure of working under his dad, Mike Shanahan. In this time, the Redskins had just one winning season, and they made a single trip to the playoffs, losing in the wild card round. Since his time in Washington, Shanahan went on to be the OC for the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons, and now he resides in San Francisco.

Ahead of the 49ers matchup with the Redskins, Shanahan didn’t feel like mincing words about his former team.

What was the best part of working in Washington?

“Being able to work with my dad & be around some other good coaches.”

What was the worst part?

“Everything else.”

Shanahan was able to get a laugh from the media on Wednesday, and he’ll likely get the last laugh on Sunday as his undefeated team comes into Washington to face the very defeated Redskins.
