San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spent four seasons in Washington as an offensive coordinator under his father, Mike. On Sunday, Shanahan will make his return to FedEx Field, which understandably brought up some questions about his time with the Redskins.
Let’s just say that Shanahan isn’t too fond of Redskins owner Dan Snyder.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Shanahan was asked if he had any positive memories and takeaways from his stint with the Redskins. Shanahan, though, managed to turn his answer into a burn on Snyder.
“Everything else.”
That’s cold. At the very least, D.C. has some good restaurants. It couldn’t have been that bad.
He did say that he liked a lot of the players and coaches, so there was that. He clearly just didn’t enjoy working for Snyder.
Shanahan went on to say that he wasn’t going to make anything personal … in an answer that definitely sounded personal.
