CHICAGO _ Kyle Schwarber's first career walk-off home run gave the Cubs a 4-3 win in 10 innings against the Reds on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
Alec Mills pitched five scoreless innings after a rocky first inning, and home runs by Robel Garcia and Kris Bryant sparked a comeback.
The Cubs (51-44), who have won four of five games since the All-Star break, earned the win with one out in the 10th when Schwarber hit a towering home run, his 21st of the season, to left-center off Reds closer Raisel Iglesias.
Garcia hit a two-run home run in the second. With two out in the sixth, Bryant ripped his tying homer, his 19th of the season, several rows into the bleachers in left center to knock out Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani.
The Cubs, who were charged with two costly errors in the seventh inning of Monday's 6-3 loss, rebounded in the field. Shortstop Javier Baez, who mishandled a double play grounder Monday, made a strong relay throw to home plate to nail Nick Senzel for the final out of the Reds' three-run first.
Baez also made a sliding stop in shallow right field to retire Derek Dietrich in the eighth.
Center fielder Albert Almora Jr. made a sliding catch on the warning track in center field to rob Joey Votto of an extra-base hit in the first, and he ran far to catch a deep drive by Senzel for the final out of the eighth.
Newly acquired catcher Martin Maldonado went 0 for 4 in his Cubs debut.
