Winger Kyle McAllister believes the club’s gaffer hasn’t got the credit he deserves for steering St Mirren into the top six.
The Buddies have had a tumultuous season on and off the pitch but still find themselves in the top half with a chance to make history if they can hang on to sixth position come the split.
McAllister insists boss Jim Goodwin should be getting more of a pat on the back than he has gathered so far, especially for his recruitment last summer.
He said: “The gaffer has been absolutely brilliant. He deserves a lot more credit than he gets.
“Especially when you look at last year and compare it to how we are doing this year. As a whole squad we are a lot better.
“I feel like every season ten players go out and 11 come in.
"It changes a lot, but this seems to be the season that it has all clicked.
"He’s brought in the right players and we are playing well.”
