Kyle Lowry missed a great look at a title-winning buzzer-beater by a mile

It’s the moment every basketball player dreams about. The exact moment they spend countless hours rehearsing on the court.

Clock winding down, trailing by a point, an NBA title on the line.

Kyle Lowry had a chance to live that dream and go down in NBA and Raptors history on Monday. But he missed. He missed by so, so much.

After the Warriors battled back from a Kawhi Leonard supernova run to retake the lead in the fourth quarter, a goaltending call, backcourt violation and moving screen kept the door open for Toronto to win the NBA title at the buzzer. The Warriors had a one-point lead, and the Raptors would have the last shot.

Once Leonard got caught in a double team, he gave the ball up to Fred VanVleet who then found Lowry open in the corner with a great look at a title-winning shot. Then, this happened.

Oof.

He basically shot that ball off the side of the backboard. Lowry didn’t come close.

NBA fans couldn’t believe a star player missed his chance at history like THAT.

Sure, Draymond Green may have gotten a finger on it, but Lowry won’t stop thinking about that shot anytime soon.

The Warriors won, 106-105, to force Game 6 on Thursday.
