Kyle Lafferty 'wanted' by Limassol as Rangers striker set for summer exit

Apollon Limassol want Rangers fringe man Kyle Lafferty , according to a report.

Lafferty made 35 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side in the season just passed, although most of them came from the bench.

He still has one year left on his contract and Record Sport Online  understands there is interest from across the globe in the striker.

And the Scotsman reports Cypriots Limassol are one of the clubs keen on Lafferty.

They will play in the Europa League qualifying this summer – and could even face Rangers should his transfer go ahead.

The Cypriots are unseeded from QR2 while Rangers are seeded at this stage.

Steven Gerrard is understood to be willing to get Lafferty, 31, off the wage bill as he looks to strengthen for a tilt at the title.

Gerrard has Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe on the books and is believed to be keen to land one more striker.

The Ibrox boss has also targeted centre-backs and is ready to up his offer for Oldham’s George Edmundson.
