Kyle Lafferty set for surprise Romania move as ex-Rangers and Hearts striker 'agrees terms' with Sepsi

Former Rangers and Hearts star Kyle Lafferty is reported to have found his next club - with a move to Romania on the cards for the nomadic striker.

The 33-year-old is best known in Scotland for his time at Ibrox and Tynecastle but has also played in England, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey and Sweden over the course of his expansive 16-year career.

Lafferty has been a free agent since leaving Serie B side Reggina in January and was briefly linked with a move back to Hearts, while Hamilton and Dundee were also reportedly showing interest.

But Prosport say that he has agreed terms with Sepsi, who sit fourth in the Romanian Liga 1.

Leontin Grozavu’s side are chasing a European berth and sit nine points behind third-place Universitatea Craiova, but with a game in hand.

They are actively searching for attacking reinforcements and the Romanian outlet say they see Lafferty as a major coup.

Romania would be a new adventure for the globe-trotting Northern Irishman following stints with Sion, Palermo, Caykur Rizespor and Sarpsborg.

Closer to home, Lafferty has also turned out for Burnley, Birmingham and Sunderland, while winning 79 caps for his country.
