Kyle Lafferty linked with return to Scottish football with former club

Kyle Lafferty could be in line for a dramatic return to Scotland.

It is being reported that Kilmarnock want to bring the Northern Ireland striker back to the SPFL.

Lafferty is currently a free agent after having his contract at Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta torn up by mutual consent.

Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes is a fan and is reportedly interested in adding the former Rangers and Hearts forward to his squad for the remainder of the season.

Kilmarnock currently sit third in the Scottish Championship, two points behind leaders Arbroath with a game in hand.

The Daily Record reports that Lafferty has options in Scotland, England and across Europe, while Irish League champions Linfield were also being linked with the international striker.

The 34-year-old played under Tommy Wright last season at Kilmarnock when the club got relegated from the top flight, scoring 13 goals in as many games.
