Kyle Lafferty joins Kilmarnock in short-term deal as striker returns to Scottish football

Kyle Lafferty is back in the Scottish Premiership after becoming Tommy Wright's first signing at Kilmarnock.

The Northern Ireland striker has agreed a contract for the remainder of the season.

Lafferty became a free agent when he was released by Italian Serie B side Reggina last month.

The 33-year-old was close to signing a deal with Romanian Liga 1 outfit Sepsi earlier in the week but will now join up with former Northern Ireland goalkeeper Wright at Rugby Park.

It's Lafferty's third club in Scotland having previously having two spells with Rangers and playing for Hearts.

Kilmarnock currently sit 10th in the Scottish Premiershop, and their next game comes against league leaders Rangers on Saturday at Ibrox.
