New Kilmarnock striker Kyle Lafferty is not surprised by Rangers' dominant season as he prepares to face his former side.
The new Killie signing could go straight into Tommy Wright's starting XI for the trip to Ibrox on Saturday after the Rugby Park club signed him until the end of the season.
Lafferty insists he will try and help his new employers take something away from Govan as he looks to make an instant impact after sealing his return to the Premiership.
The former Hearts man was asked about how Steven Gerrard's side have performed this season and isn't shocked they have built a comfortable lead at the top.
He reckons the way Celtic have 'crumbled' this year has been an added bonus for Rangers as he tips them to go on and win the title.
He said: "If we [Kilmarnock] believe we can go and get something from the game then I’m sure there will be chances that we’ll get, and it will be up to myself and the other strikers and the attacking players to take them.
“But, I’m not shocked with how well they have done. When I was there you could see they were a team that was going to go on to great things and this season has just showed it.
"They have been exceptional and they’ll be champions at the end of the season.
“It hasn’t surprised me and I know that anyone who has been close to the squad, it probably hasn’t surprised them.
“I think it’s made it even more exciting with how Celtic have crumbled, to be honest. I think it’s an added bonus for Rangers and their fans that they are so far in front. It shows that they are the best team in Scotland.”
