Kyle Lafferty explains reasons behind turning down Romanian move

Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty has opened up on the reasons why he turned down a move to Romanian side Sepsi.

Lafferty has been a free agent since leaving Italian Serie B side Reggina in January.

The former Rangers man was being linked with a return to Scotland, with Hearts, Hamilton and Dundee reportedly showing interest.

It was then reported by Prosport this week that the 33-year-old had agreed terms with Sepsi in Romania.

However, Lafferty's search for a new club continues after he turned down the move.

In an interview with Prosport, Lafferty said: "In football, details make the difference.

"We did not agree on some issues and we were forced to decline the offer. I am sorry that I did not reach an agreement, I was ready to come to Romania."

Lafferty has played for clubs in Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Norway, Scotland and England during his career.

He added: "I am a professional footballer and I am willing to play wherever I want, if there is the possibility to have results, to achieve performance in one way or another."
