Kyle Kuzma joins Lonzo Ball, Zion Williamson at Creative Artists Agency

Like Lonzo Ball before him this summer, Kyle Kuzma parted ways with his agency this summer, casting aside Mark Bartelstein and Zach Kurtin of Priority Sports and Entertainment in mid-July. After some deliberation, Kuzma pulled a bit of a surprise on Wednesday by signing with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Kuzma joins both Ball and new New Orleans Pelicans Zion Williamson with CAA. Tania Ganguli of the LA Times added that Kuzma’s agent will be Leon Rose. Early in the process with Ball signing with CAA, rumors circulated that Rose would be Ball’s primary agent but Real GM currently lists Ball’s agents as Steven Heumann, Aaron Mintz.

Both Ball and Kuzma surprised with their decisions as both had plenty of speculation circulating that each would sign with Klutch Sports at various times this summer. Ball’s decision to part ways with former agent Harrison Gaines came early in the summer, prior to his trade to the Pelicans. At the time, Ball had recently appeared LeBron James’ HBO show The Shop and the two had reportedly grown close.

Kuzma, likewise, has grown close to James almost by necessity as one of the lone holdovers from last season to present day. The two have worked out together this summer extensively and it appeared a likely move for Kuzma to link up with James’ agency. Instead, Kuzma will link up with Rose, who served as James’ agent before the formation of Klutch Sports.
