The Los Angeles Lakers had a tough loss last night against the defending champion Toronto Raptors, as the Raptors used their defense and pace to separate themselves in a 107-92 victory over the Lakers. But while the Lakers lost in large part due to one of their worst offensive games of the season, one constant in the first two games of the NBA Restart for the Lakers has been the outside shooting of Kyle Kuzma.
Kuzma struggled mightily this season with his outside shot, dropping below 30 percent, but over the first two games of the restart, Kuzma is 7 for 14 (50%) from the 3-point line. The Lakers will desperately need Kuzma to continue to deliver from the outside, which has been one of their few weaknesses this season.
And in addition to the accurate shooting, Kuzma has also shown an ability to use his 6-foot-9 frame to disrupt players on the defensive end. Kuzma’s defense has long been seen as his biggest weakness but through the first two games, that hasn’t been the case. For the Lakers to make a deep run, they will need more of the same.
