Kyle Kuzma ‘excited’ for Lakers season after injury removes him from USA

Even though Kyle Kuzma was unable to continue with Team USA due to an ankle injury, Kuzma is still thankful the experience he had over the last month as a part of USA Basketball prior to coming back to the states to prepare for a huge NBA season for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kuz is apparently back in Los Angeles and ready to get healthy, according to some tweets from him on Sunday morning. Kuzma’s role on the Lakers as of now is unclear but he said earlier this month that he’s willing to come off the bench to start the season if needed.

The expectations for the Lakers are much higher entering this season than they were during their first season with LeBron James. As it stands now, the Lakers currently have the 2nd best odds to win the championship behind their Staples Center neighbors, the Clippers.

As for Kuzma, he ended last season as one of the Lakers most important players and was the only member of their young core to survive the exodus created by the Anthony Davis trade. While the question of whether he will start or come off the bench remains unanswered, we do know that he will play quite a bit no matter where he begins the season.
