Kyle Joseph transfer warning as Celtic and Tottenham-linked rising star's asking price named by Wigan

Wigan have warned Celtic that Kyle Joseph won't be leaving Lancashire on the cheap this month.

The striker has been linked with a move to the Parkhead club as the 19-year-old continues to impress in League One.

The Lactics are still in administration and the futures of some of their top talents, including Joseph, are up in the air after a proposed takeover bid collapsed last week.

His contract runs out in the summer and is free to talk to clubs as Wigan could look to cash in on their asset to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the season.

Celtic are rumoured to be interested, but Glasgow Live understand Rangers are not in the running for the rising star.

The Athletic claim that Tottenham and Sheffield United have entered the race for the youngster, however.

The report also suggests Wigan have placed a £1million asking price on the talisman and “are not desperate enough to sell someone whose goals could keep them in League One for significantly less than his value.”
