Kyle Joseph 'closing in' on Celtic transfer as decision time approaches for Wigan star

Wigan striker Kyle Joseph has reportedly taken a step closer to a summer switch to Celtic.

The 19-year-old striker is enjoying a breakout season for the relegation-threatened League One club having scored five goals for the Latics so far this term.

A host of clubs have been reported to be chasing the signature of the highly-rated teenager, including English Premier League sides Arsenal, Leicester and Tottenham.

The Daily Mail claim that the managerless Hoops have won the race for his signature and are "closing in on a deal for" the attacker on a pre-contract agreement.

Joseph is a Scotland Under-19 international and Wigan - who sit bottom of League One and are in danger of a second relegation in a row - have offered him a new deal meaning they'll be entitled to some cross-border compensation if a move materialises.

The youth cap would be the second pre-contract recruit from the English lower leagues with Sheffield Wednesday starlet Liam Shaw already agreeing a move to Parkhead.
