Kyle Allen named QB1, expected to be ready to play vs. NY Giants

Kyle Allen was briefly knocked out of the game vs. the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, and then later held out when it was announced that he was cleared to return as an abundance of caution from Ron Rivera. However, we are now getting word both that Allen is expected to be the starter next week over Alex Smith, and that he is expected to be healthy enough to play.

Allen’s injury came in the second quarter when he partook in a brutal collision with Rams CB Jalen Ramsey on the sideline, leaving him in the blue medical tent being checked for a concussion and with a bum left arm. Allen was cleared to return, though he was still hurting quite a bit, but Rivera decided to play it safe with Smith.

Reports are that Allen is still a bit sore today, but he is expected to be good to play next week against the 0-5 New York Giants.
