The South Korean midfielder - who spent time on loan at St Mirren and Hibernian - failed to make a competitive appearance for Celtic after joining from Busan IPark in 2023.
Celtic confirmed his departure, posting the message: "Kwon Hyeokkyu has left #CelticFC to join Nantes on a permanent transfer.
"Best of luck and thank you, Kwon!"
Signed on the same day as fellow South Korean Yang Hyun-jun in the summer of 2023, as well as Polish defender Maik Nawrocki, Kwon's only appearances for Celtic came in pre-season friendlies against Wolves and Athletic Club.
