Kuwait called on Sunday the international community to intensify diplomatic efforts to contain tensions in the Gulf, reported the KUNA news agency.
A senior Foreign Ministry source said Kuwait was “following with deep concern” regional developments after Iran’s seizure of a British oil tanker in the Arabian Gulf, stressing these actions would increase escalation and tensions and put navigation safety under direct threat.
It urged all parties “to exercise restraint and respect international maritime law to ensure the safety of navigation in this vital region of the world.”
