
Kuwait civil aviation authority said Sunday it was suspending direct commercial flights to and from Britain, as of Wednesday Jan. 6 at 4.00 a.m, until further notice.
The authority made the announcement on Twitter, saying it was based on the instructions of the health authorities.
Britain is reeling from a new coronavirus variant that has pushed infection rates to their highest recorded levels.
The UK recorded more than 50,000 new coronavirus infections a day over the past five days. On Saturday, it notched a daily record of 57,725 new cases. The country has seen nearly 75,000 virus-related deaths.
