Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AI-Sabah pledged Wednesday to stand against anyone attempting to undermine national security and to prevent any "negligence" by security authorities.
"We will firmly stand against anyone attempting to undermine security of the nation and its social fabric, nor we will accept any negligence," he affirmed in a speech during a visit to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
Kuwait’s Emir urged security officers and personnel to "implement the law and promote discipline in order to boost the status of security and justice.”
He added: "Strengthening foundations of stability nationwide and guaranteeing security and safety of citizens and all those living on this land, as well as protecting their lives and properties, are on top of our priorities and are under our constant follow-up.”
Sheikh Nawaf praised the security forces for their contributions to implementing the health regulations during the coronavirus pandemic despite the risk of infection. He stressed that the State would spare no effort in helping the MoI to carry out its duties.
In the same context, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh said there were many challenges that required further vigilance and serious implementation of the law.
These challenges, he added, "necessitate positive cooperation between citizens and security forces to achieve security and stability in the nation."
