Kuwait's ports authority suspended the movement of people to and from Iran until further notice because of concerns about the coronavirus outbreak in that country, state news agency KUNA said early on Friday.

Iran confirmed on Friday 13 more new coronavirus cases and two deaths among the group of new cases.

The new cases comprised seven people diagnosed in Qom, four in Tehran and two in Gilan, Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Kianush Jahanpur said in a tweet.

The total of cases in Iran now stands at 18, with four of those people having died.

On Thursday, Kuwait Airways suspended all flights to Iran on the advice of the Kuwaiti Health Ministry and the civil aviation authority.

More than 2,200 people have now died because of the virus, and more than 75,000 have been infected in China and over 1,100 abroad.

The epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak is the central Chinese city of Wuhan.
