Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah received on Sunday an invitation from President Vladimir Putin to visit Russia, reported the Kuwait news agency (KUNA).
The Emir, in turn, invited Putin to visit the Gulf state.
In his letter, Putin hailed the Emir’s role in establishing diplomatic ties between Kuwait and Moscow.
He also lauded the “personal role he is playing in bolstering political, economic, commercial and investment cooperation between their countries in a manner that serves regional security and stability.”
For his part, Sheikh Sabah underscored the historic Kuwaiti-Russian ties, adding that he looks forward to boosting them in all fields.
Putin is expected to visit Saudi Arabia in October.
