Kuwait Emir, Blinken Hold Talks on Boosting Bilateral Ties

Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held talks on Thursday with visiting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, reported the state news agency (KUNA).

Blinken conveyed to Sheikh Nawaf the “greetings of US President Joe Biden, as well as best wishes of progress and prosperity for the Kuwaiti people.”

In turn, Sheikh Nawaf “expressed utmost appreciation for the US president and the friendly American people, as both countries are celebrating 60 years of historic ties, as well as 30 years of Kuwait's liberation.”

The meeting tackled bilateral ties and means to develop them on all levels and the latest regional developments.

The State Department said Blinken would advance discussions with Kuwait on military cooperation, regional security and investment during his short visit.
